Obstructive sleep apnea is a sleep disorder that is causing pauses breathing during the sleep. They can be from a few seconds to a few minutes, and might happen a number of times during the night sleep, then breathing will start again itself.
OSA is a chronic disease, and to detect it there are some special tests that need to be done during the sleep, as it can’t be diagnosed within day hours.
If this disease left untreated, if can be a cause of:
- heart problems
- heart failure
- diabetes
